Its surprising how few people know about Basque food. When you eat the food of a people you know them better. Shepherds without a homeland, the Basque people have a strong sense of culture. Straddled and stateless between the mountains of Spain and France, many left to come to the American West. They are fighters, workers, heros, singers, artists and, most definitely, cooks.
At most any Basque restaurant you'll be seated family style with bread and wine. Shepherds cooked hearty meals in the field with dutch ovens and rustic European flavors like lamb stew and their famous beans. I promise you have not lived unless you have eaten a Basque Meal. It is worth a 200 mile trip for this event. Don't miss out.
I have placed antique coins throughout Nevada to honor her 150th birthday and to encourage you on your personal adventure. Walk where Radar and Ivy walked in Treasures of Darkness. Eat what they ate.
This adventure treasure is near one of my very very favorite Basque Restaurants. Please over indulge and ask for a Picon Punch.
