Halloween seems to be the time when many people are willing to concede to the reality of a spiritual world. As Americans, we live most of our lives safely insulated from the knowledge of how this reality shapes our actions and reactions. We behave as if these things are not so... because we don't want to believe they are so, but, in our heart of hearts, we know that this other world is true.

Radar and Ivy, particularly Radar, chose to live in both worlds. To him, it was a passport to acceptance and success. I didn't try to tell a socially acceptable story, but a true story. A story that may be yours.

Treasures of Darkness is the full story of my family in Nevada. On this Nevada Day, celebrating over 155 years of statehood as well as Halloween, I've left two last treasures at UNR. Two old coins, one of which is a silver half dollar from the 1800's.
