I realize no one is actually reading this ... yet but, I feel obliged to keep my word to visit with you monthly. Eventually we will come to know one another. I had planned by now to be deep into searching the claim left by Uncle Paul. Honestly, knowing him, it's less about the mining and more about something else he might have left behind. Instead, I'm leaving Florida after a week of serious storms and flooding. Pensacola received more rain in a day than hurricane Ivan dropped in 2004. The accompanying thunderstorm topped a record 6,000 lightening strikes in 15 minutes. It was like an end-of-the-world movie.
It's been a week of flashing dolphins and dead sea turtles. A week of meeting new grandchildren and watching other children that I care for so much, driving toward self destruction.
Treasure hunting is exactly like life; lots of twists and turns. I do have a little gift for you however. I've enclosed a retro postcard for you to download. Print it up and send it to someone you care about.
Facebook can never compete for a heart's affections like your physically written words. A letter, a postcard is a piece of you. Don't worry about your handwriting- just send it.

P.S. Since I'm running behind on the search for Uncle Paul's claim and I promised you an adventure, I will give you a clue. First, if you've read the book, you know generally where it is but, as in all treasure hunts, there is a lot of confusion.
